Digital Skills: Home

This guide will help students develop skills to connect to and use Blackboard, Navigate, and other educational websites, as well as access invaluable resources to learn new computing skills or support their educational goals.

Welcome to Digital Skills

This LibGuide has been designed by Digital Literacy Services to support students familiarizing themselves with digital academic environments. Students will find resources to support learning in Blackboard, Navigate, and Northstar Online. For additional assistance schedule a Jumpstart session, call 336.757.3716, or just drop by the Ardmore Hall Computer Lab (ARD 143) on Main Campus.

Welcome to the Digital Skills LibGuide

This LibGuide is designed to make it easier to find and use many of the digital online platforms you will use while at Forsyth Tech.  It contains tabbed pages covering the following areas:

Blackboard: This tab contains a curated catalog of videos designed to introduce you to the Blackboard Learn environment. There is a brief video introduction to Blackboard followed by tabbed content windows with videos covering everything from finding your courses to how to submit an assignment. There is even a section on how to access ADA accessible materials. Most videos are even under 3 minutes!

Navigate: These resources will help you view, manage, and sync your calendars. You will also learn how to schedule appointments around campus, including FREE tutoring!

Northstar Online: Whether you would like an introduction to computers or to hone your existing skills, this is the place for you. Don't forget to sign up for a FREE account to keep track of your progress and earn badges and certificates!

Additional Resources: Find many of the wraparound campus resources designed to bring holistic support to you. Whether you are locked out of your account, you want to change your major, or you are experiencing housing or food insecurity, Forsyth Tech has resources to make sure you stay on your trail to success.

Be sure to scroll through the entire page to ensure you don't miss any useful information. There are navigation buttons at the bottom of each page to help you proceed through the guide.
