Words of Wisdom

Adjunct faculty we want to hear from you! Please send any words of advice or lessons learned that you would like to share with others. Please email Dr. Debi Griffith (dgriffith@forsythtech.edu) with your contributions and remember to include in your subject line "Adjunct Words of Wisdom."

Buzz About Blackboard

Important Items You Need to Include in Your Blackboard Courses
  • Include a positive welcome message. Watch this video to see how to accomplish this.
  • Add the course-specific syllabus. Watch this video to find out how.
  • Include the link www.forsythtech.edu/syllabus to the Forsyth Tech Universal Course Policies and Procedures. The syllabus video above includes how to add this link.
  • Add your contact information to the Instructor Contact area found on your course menu.
  • Add an assignment that requires learners to make a submission into Blackboard making sure that the due date is set for no later than the course census date. This can be a discussion, test, syllabus quiz etc. This item must appear in the Grade Center.
  • Be sure to set up the Grade Center so that it is ready to collect and accurately report grades from day one of the course start date.
